There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling hall gaming is prohibited. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, financing sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 1700, and although visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most borders.
The first Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slots and 60 tables. The Naga casino is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel building that highlights numerous amenities accompanying the gambling den, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
